The Episodes:
Episode 1
Love at first sight? Kind of. They were just 17 and 18-years-old when they met — and from the very first moment, she knew they were going to get married. He didn’t! More than 65 years later, Bears and Samahria are still together, sharing the story of how instinct, courage, humor, and persistence built a lifelong partnership.
In Episode 1 of 5 Days To Live, they look back on the beginning of a love story that would carry them through decades of change, challenge, and growth — and what lasting love really requires.
If you’ve ever wondered whether you should trust your instincts, take a risk in love, or be brave enough to go after the life you feel called toward, this story is for you.
Episode 2
Why do we feel angry, sad, anxious, or reactive — even when we don’t want to? In Episode 2 of 5 Days To Live, Bears and Samahria share the breakthrough that transformed not only their struggling early marriage, but their entire understanding of emotions, happiness, and personal change.
After years of blaming each other for their unhappiness, they discovered a powerful idea: our emotions don’t come from what happens to us — they come from what we believe.
What followed changed everything. Through their own story, Bears and Samahria explain how understanding the beliefs behind your emotions can help you stop reacting automatically, take ownership of how you feel, and begin creating lasting happiness in your life and relationships.
If you’ve ever wondered: Why do I feel this way? Why do the same emotional patterns keep repeating? Can people really change? This conversation offers a deeply practical place to start.
Episode 3
When Bears and Samahria’s young son was diagnosed as autistic in the 1970s, they were told he might never connect, communicate, or live independently. Instead of following the harsh and often dehumanizing treatments recommended at the time, they made a different choice — one rooted in love, non-judgement, and acceptance. By meeting their son exactly where he was, joining him in his world rather than trying to force him out of it, they discovered something extraordinary: connection begins with understanding.
What followed were magical moments — first eye contact, first words, and eventually a life filled with learning, relationships, and purpose. In this episode of 5 Days To Live, Bears and Samahria share the story of how acceptance transformed not only their son’s life, but the lives of countless families they later helped along the same path. This is a story about autism, parenting, love, and the power of loving someone exactly as they are.
Episode 4
What if there were no wrong moves in life? After years of personal transformation, parenting challenges, and profound discoveries about love, emotions, and acceptance, Bears and Samahria began sharing what they had learned with others. In Episode 4 of 5 Days To Live, they tell the story of building their institutes — spaces dedicated to personal growth, connection, and supporting families with autistic children — guided a powerful idea: love first, act second.
Through workshops, teaching, and helping thousands of people navigate their lives, they discovered something freeing: when you learn to trust yourself, life stops feeling like a series of mistakes and starts becoming a path of growth. This episode explores how letting go of second-guessing can open the door to purpose, confidence, and a life you truly love.
Episode 5
When Bears was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer, doctors told him he might have only days left to live. Facing hospice and the possibility of saying goodbye, Bears and Samahria made a decision that would define the next chapter of their lives: instead accepting saying goodbye, they chose to live fully — together. Using the personal growth tools they’d been teaching for decades, they approached illness with courage, presence, and hope.
In this final episode of 5 Days To Live, they share exactly how they navigated one of life’s most difficult moments — and how choosing how to love and live each day changed everything. Nearly three years after that diagnosis, Bears continues to live with gratitude, purpose, and a simple philosophy: Make every day the best day of your life.
